John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people through his music. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver became the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many all over the world. When I travel, you may meet people at the other side of the planet. For example people who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short stint in small folk bands. Danoff wrote the track for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential after hearing it first. After singing to an enthusiastic crowd at Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
